The change of category is another step in the development of our university. It expresses our broad, universal profile of education and academic activity. We were granted the right to use the word “Uniwersytet” in our Polish name due to the high evaluation results of the WSB-DSW Universities Research Federation in 8 academic disciplines.
Our values have remained unchanged for years. They are the foundation on which we have built DSW's success – practicality and friendliness.
We identify and create new opportunities for development through continuous cooperation with the socio-economic environment.
We cooperate with many business partners. Our students have the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice.
We use the latest technological solutions available (laboratories, specially adapted rooms, specialised software, business games and simulations).
We provide a space for innovation and foster its implementation. Not only by launching start-ups but also by incorporating the solutions into everyday working life.
We develop them in cooperation with the Consultative Council of Employers, which includes a number of Lower Silesian companies and institutions.
We are open to change both in terms of the ways in which we teach and in terms of shaping a friendly environment.
Bringing together experiences and people from different fields (e.g. business, science, humanities) allows us to innovate.
We are a member of the WSB-DSW Research Federation. Our academic activity embraces many fields.
We listen and respond to the needs of our students, graduates, employees and the companies we work with by systematically conducting satisfaction surveys.
We provide education in such a way that combining work and study is possible not only on part-time, post-diploma programmes, but also on full-time programmes in all educational profiles.
We help students to deal with all the formalities efficiently. We offer hybrid, traditional or online programmes of study.
It is the student who decides when and how they want to pay their tuition fees.
Our expert lecturers, staff and students can share their experiences.
We are a group of universities that support each other and create new value, success and stability.

The teaching policy will not change due to the name change.
No, the tuition fee system does not change.
No, there is no need to submit new documents to the embassy. If necessary, the university will issue a name change certificate (or you will be able to download it yourself from USOSWEB or a dedicated SharePoint site).
This is only the university name that changes and nothing else. If the documents in the admission process were made available before the name change and have not been signed (in particular the educational services agreement or the fee regulations), new documents will be made available after the name change, and they will already state the new name.
This depends on the date of your thesis defence. If the defence took place on or after the date of the name change, the graduate will receive a diploma with the new name of the university. If the defence took place before the name change, the graduate will receive a diploma with the university's former name.
We still remain the same university, with the same values, and the new name is more universal and inclusive with regard to the range of courses we offer.

The doctoral school and the completion of a PhD thesis in an extramural mode will be available within the framework of the WSB-DSW Universities Research Federation. Details will soon be published on the website of the school and the Federation.
We wanted a synergy effect between the new category of university and the opportunities it opens up for us. We are a university that teaches practically and combines academic values with a modern approach to education. The new university category makes our broad, universal profile of education and academic activity even more explicit.
The new name realistically means a change of category, we now use the word “Uniwersytet” in our Polish name and that gives the university more scope for development in terms of offering study programmes or awarding doctoral and post-doctoral degrees.
The owner has not changed, the university senates are also the same. The new category and name is a consequence of our development.
It is a research body bringing together five non-public universities. Its aim is to synergise the research potential of the universities – the participating institutions. The cooperation of academics and the activity of the Federation lead to a new, higher quality in research.
The name change of the university does not affect the admission rules. These are individually determined by the university.
We have always focused on practical education and this will not change, a diploma from our university is a confirmation of practical knowledge.
Graduates completing their degree before the change of the university's name, applying for duplicates (diplomas, certificates and other graduation documents), will receive them with the old name. Diplomas from graduations taking place after the name change will bear the new name and it will not be possible to issue a diploma with the old logo.
The discount scheme that existed before the name change remains the same. If there are any changes in the future we will keep you informed.

It is a good idea to write the new name and include the former name in brackets, i.e. University of Lower Silesia.
